Logical Decisions with a Stencil and a Gel Plate
Why would I use a gel plate with a stencil? Why black paint and not another color? I'm sharing the logic behind my decisions in the video. Visit the blog post at acolorfuljourney.com/?p=37039
This is just one way you can use stencils on a gel plate! If you'd like more ways to get more out of your stencils and deepen your understanding of layers on a gel plate, check out my online workshop Stencil-rific Layers acolorfuljourney.com/?page_id=32967

What does O.O.P.S. stand for? It stands for Outstanding Opportunities Presenting Suddenly.
Those “failures” and “mistakes” that we so harshly criticized ourselves about actually became true gifts as soon as you start saying O.O.P.S. Try saying Oops in an angry tone. It makes it even more silly!
I just can’t take myself seriously when I say Oops which is just what I needed to play. I began to play, to have fun, and to embrace all of my “mistakes”.

What is Powerwax and how to use it in an art journal
Переглядів 10 тис.3 місяці тому
What is Powerwax? That's what I asked myself when I saw it. It's a cold wax that is water based from powertexproductsusa.com/ That water based part is huge to me because that means Powerwax plays with acrylics! So I turned on the camera and jumped in. In the video, I'm sharing 9 things I learned while exploring and experimenting in my art journal. S U P P L I E S Some of these links may be affi...
Why I'm Not Using These
Переглядів 6 тис.5 місяців тому
Why am I not using some of my art supplies? Is it hoarding? Nope, it was something else and it was an easy, playful fix! Now I'm excited to use these old stickers after 10-15 years! There are some practical questions about this, but I figured it out as I went! Stencils are quick way to get patterns, designs, and text into your layers but what I've shared here is just the tip of the iceberg of w...

Thanks for mentioning address labels: I have tons of those that I can use; I forget to use them for mailing plus I do so little mailing and it seems every charitable organization sends those to get me to reciprocate with a donation.

I guess in most of the cases you kept the stickers for the sticker shape since your paint was mostly opaque and covered the sticker diagram

Some photo papers will stick to a Gelli Plate (the manufactured ones.) However, I have used photo paper on homemade jelly plates without an issue.

You can do this much quicker with any image film such as Apollo. Print it on an ink jet printer then apply a clear gel medium on the surface you want to transfer to. Rub with a thumb carefully or spoon. then wait3-5 minutes. then slowly lift the film. Check Gary Reef's video for better instructions.
